Each child is shown, not only told, how to develop sketching techniques that help coordinate the eye and hand. This allows the student to gain a sense of accurate perspective, shadowing and dimension.
After the basics, every child works on something different. Having the student work in their area of greatest interest helps them stick with the project getting it ready to frame.
Students work in colored pencils, ink, charcoal, watercolor, pastel, acrylic and oils. Kids learn about marker rendering, logo generation and the keys to designing anything from a business card to a web page.
All students produce finished pieces that usually find a place in their house, parent's office or school. There's no better time than NOW to begin laying the foundation for a great portfolio.

Jane pulls from her extensive graphics and fine art background to Mentor these kids, enabling them to accomplish whatever they desire to produce artistically.
This training compliments that of other art classes in schools and gives each student an artist's perspective when working with computer graphics and design.

Each year, many students who enter their art into competitions, win various awards. There's never been a year that some fail to win a blue ribbon from the Dixie Classic Fair. Several high school students have been awarded prizes at various North Carolina State Art Contests.

One of the perks of being an advanced student is attending one of the special Workshops built around a central theme or medium. The most recent was a 3-Day event where students studied Monet and over the Mid-Week Sessions produced their own finished work in Impressionism. Students attending these special sessions meet for several hours each day and create their project start to finish in 3 days.
