2009 Summer Workshop Details

Tuition: $150
Class Goal: To learn impressionistic techniques in oil painting by Demonstration and Application.
Who is Elgible? Advanced, Serious Artists wanting to expand their knowledge in the medium of oil, and those wanting to learn new techniques to advance their craft.
Jane will demonstrate how to get started. Magazine clippings of landscapes, cityscapes or still life photography such as food or flowers will be provided.
Follow Jane over three sessions of instruction and practice. At the end of the workshop, you should have 2-3 Gallery-Ready Pieces.

Note: Layout your palette colors in this order (warm to cool colors).
BRUSHES Sherwin-Williams 1 inch oil house painting brush cut at 45 degree angle Chinese Pighair: Round #4 Bright #2 and #4 Flat #8 and #10 Filbert #6 (If the supplier is out of a particular size, go to the next size brush).
ADDITIONAL MATERIALS 3 Stretch Canvas or Canvas Board 18 X 24 or 20 X 24 Turpenoid-1 can, any size Purified Linseed Oil Palette Knife for mixing paints (Iggy's will advise you). Wooden Art Box, Tackle Box or Tote Bag for carrying paints. Palette paper Paper Towels 2 Clip-On Metal Cups to hold mediums 1 Mason Jar-found at Michael's
FOR PAINTING AT HOME (not necessary for class) Brush Cleaner and Preserver (round tan cake soap) or (Murphy's Oil Soap diluted in 1 part Murphy's, 4 parts water) Oil paint hand soap or "Lava" from grocery store One Step Oil Brush Cleaner and Conditioner at Michael's or Iggy's (optional but highly recommended for your brushes life) Students need to make sure they have an easel, hand soap, brush cleaner, brush preserver along with the items on the supply list.
